Jay Giampapa's Music Biography

Jay Giampapa is a multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, and producer whose experience spans many genres and decades. Jay began his musical career as a guitar player studying under Jon Finn, a guitarist for the Boston Pops, The Jon Finn Group and instructor at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

Jay's influences include Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch (Dokken), and Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne) which inspired him to enter the heavy metal scene by forming the Boston based band Revelation. Revelation achieved many accolades, including winning first place in the “Friday Night Massacre” a “Battle of the Bands” contest held at The Rockpile in Saugus, Ma in 1992. The group also secured a top 10 hit entitled "Fight or Fall" in the WCGY's Boston Music Showcase.

Jay Giampapa Jay began recording and engineering in the late 80's out of necessity for Revelation. His first studio consisted of a small 4-track cassette format recorder, a mixing board and a few mics in his apartment. Even then he was producing a quality sound that was superior to some of the demos his buddies were spending top dollar for in large, multi-track studios. Due to this talent, bands and artists began to seek him out to produce and record their demos.

MJN-Studios was born in the early 2000's and successfully produced a 10 song CD as a fund raiser for a children's shelter in the Orlando area. Since then we've updated to a full blown digital studio utilizing Pro Tools. We are constantly moving ahead with the latest technology leading MJN music and studio productions forward.

Jay has had the privilege of working with many talented artists and musicians on various projects. Through these projects Jay gained perspective, insight and skill that spans all music genres. His music writing and producing now crosses every style on the radio dial including; hip-hop, r&b, metal, southern rock, rap, instrumental, pop and even country

Now with years of experience behind him and mastery of quality music, Jay continually seeks to increase his knowledge and enlarge his vision through his craft. This drive enables MJN-Productions to deliver to artists and listeners alike cutting edge techniques and a product surpassed by none. MJN - in fact has heard it all and plays it too!
